As such, Benard wasn't planning on letting the Bendays know what happened to the Giblo family, but Thompson had informed them.
However, having looked after Jombo the whole time, Thompson was oblivious to the recent events and told Selena everything.
"Venus is in critical condition right now, and a slight mistake could very well lead to death. I can't bring myself to make that decision, so we should probably wait till Mr. Giblo wakes up, " Benard said with a frown.
"Let me go see Zayn! Thompson told me he was bitten by a venomous snake, and I have a way of saving him!" Selena signed at him anxiously.
"I…" Benard was still hesitant.
"Let her in. I'll take responsibility if anything goes wrong, " Thompson said decisively.
Naturally, Benard didn't dare to protest any further.
"Thank you for trusting me!" Selena signed at him in relief.
"Come on. I'll bring you to him." Thompson then led Selena to Zayn to get him treated.
Layon followed closely behind them, looking concerned like he had already acknowledged Zayn as his son-in-law.
"You head on over the airport, " Benard ordered Bugara.
"Yes, sir!" Bugara replied and left in a hurry.
Benard then kept a close eye on Selena and Layon to ensure no harm came to Zayn.
Miraculously enough, Zayn regained consciousness an hour later with Selena's help.
"Mr. Zayn, you're awake!" Thompson was overjoyed. "You're amazing, Selena! I can't believe you were able to save him so quickly!"
"This acupuncture treatment will only help him remain conscious for the time being. It would take more time to fully rid his body of the venom. You'll need to continuously administer this treatment every day along with the use of herbs. It should take about a month for him to make a full recovery." Selena signed.
Thompson was relieved. "That's fine… I'm just glad his condition is curable…"
Benard was equally shocked when he saw Zayn waking up as he didn't expect Selena's treatment to be so effective.
"Venus… How is Venus?" Zayn rubbed his forehead weakly.
"Mr. Giblo!" Benard quickly helped him sit upright on the bed. "Venus is still in the ICU, but her condition is stable for now…"
"You fainted after you were bitten by a venomous snake, Zayn. It was all thanks to Selena's acupuncture treatment that you were able to regain consciousness. Shall we let her take a look at Venus too?" Layon said.
"Selena?" Zayn looked up at her and frowned. "What are you two doing here?"
He was able to remain conscious even though his vision was still a little blurry from the venom, but he was still in no condition to be having visitors.
"I came to help you, Zayn! Please believe me! I'll definitely be able to save Venus…" Selena signed at him, but Zayn cut her off.
"We have doctors here… You two can go home now…" Zayn smacked his head in an attempt to relieve the splitting headache.
"Zayn…" Layon was about to say something but was interrupted by a medical staff who came running in. "Bad news! Ms. Venus has started convulsing again!"
"What?" Zayn tried to get off the bed, but his body was so weak that he nearly fell down.
"Mr. Giblo…" Benard was quick to catch him and hold him steady.
"He mustn't move about too much or the venom will spread further into his system!" Selena signed anxiously.
Layon quickly fetched Benard a wheelchair, and they both helped Zayn onto it before heading over to the ICU with him.
"What's going on here? How did this happen? All of you doctors can't even treat a single patient?" Thompson asked in a state of panic.
"The venom is simply too deadly! There's practically nothing we can do!" one of the doctors said with tears in his eyes.
