Now Nora had began to think, Could her husband, Chris, of which Stella spoke of, be the new chairman, Mr. Arthur?
But after thinking deep, she concluded that, that happening would only be a miracle.
Chris, an orphan, who was raised in a welfare institution! But then, aside Chris, who else in the world would treat this well?
30 million dollars was an extravagant wish, and now she was giving 60 million dollars instead.
She couldn't hold back the question that had been bothering her, "Miss Yong, but may I know, is your chairman by any chance Chris Arthur?", Nora asked.
On hearing the question, Stella's heart skipped a beat. Chris, her boss, had told her not to disclose his identity to anyone, and to only reveal his last name to the public. If his wife should guess it, won't she be the one to take the blame?
Stella frantically shook her hand, "Miss Bromwick, it's best you ask no more. Our new chairman's name is Mr. Arthur, from the prominent Arthur family in the Cliffspring. Any other information about him is confidential, I have no right to disclose them", Stella replied.
On hearing this, Nora gently nodded. As soon as the words, "from the prominent Arthur family in the Cliffspring", was uttered by Stella, she came back to her senses, for Chris was an orphan, not from a family in the Cliffspring. Indeed she was thinking too much.
She was out of Stella's office, but was still a little dizzy and confused. Is she holding a 60 million dollar contract between the great Axel Group and Bromwick Group in her hand? Could she be dreaming?
Once she was out, she saw Chris who stood at the gate, patiently waiting for. She immediately ran to him exited, "Chris! I made it, they actually gave me!", she said really happy.
Chris smile.
How could you fail when your husband runs the place? He thought in his heart.
But had to fake his surprise, "Wow! You were able to negotiate for a contract that though! Dear, you are awesome!", he complimented.
"I ain't that good, I basically did nothing, they had drafted it before my arrival!", she replied.
"Really?", Chris asked still faking a surprise, "what makes you think that?", he asked.
She suddenly became scared that she was going to say something about the new chairman that would make her husband, Chris jealous, so she quickly changed the topic, "it's a really long story. Let's go back to the Bromwick Group and unravel the good news!", she added.
Chris began to laugh, "Okay dear! It's time for that b_stard Aaron, to honour our bet, kneel before me and kiss feet!", Chris added still laughing.
"Yes! He finally is going to get what he deserves for being snobbish and arrogant!", Nora supported.
Truth be told, Nora herself had some temper issues as well. Aaron and the others in the WIlson Group had always looked down on her and her husband, but since she had succeeded in getting this contract, they will be forced to be a little bit more humble.
After about 10 minutes, they arrived at the Bromwick Group.
Everyone knew that Nora went to the Axel Group earlier that day, but none ever thought she would succeed. Instead they all waited to mock her some more.
But unexpectedly Nora came back earlier than they expected.
When they walked in, all there looked at them in a sneering and sarcastic manner.
"That was fast, you are back in 30minutes, so you couldn't even negotiate your way throught their gate, isn't that right?", Aaron said laughing.
"Wow Nora! Not only did you fail, you also broke a record!", Linda her siter spoke as well.
Mrs. Bromwick was gloomy. She knew that the challenge to get a contract with the Axel group was a diffiicult one, but it appeared to her that, Nora didn't put up a fight, how could she be back so quickly? She was disappointed.
"Nora, you've dissapointed me", Mrs. Bromwick spoke annoyed.
On seeing their reaction, Chris wore a frown.
This family is so annoying, they didn't even wait to hear the result before rushing into mockery and making fun out of it!
Especaily Aaron, Nora's brother, that cocky pr_ck! Who does he think he is? Why so proud? He better get his knees ready to go on the floor.
The exited and thrill Nora had when she walked in had been subdued by the family's annoying comments, which prompted her to anger. She too wore a frown, "I apologize for dissapointing you, but I have secured the contract between the Axel Group and the Bromwick family with Miss Stella Yong", Nora said and a wave of exclamation soared in the meeting room.
"What?!", "How did you?!", "No way!", "That's impossible", they said one after the other, both simultaneously and sequentially.
Everyone was truly in awe.
"Nora, do you think we believe your lies?", Aaron asked aggressively slamming the table with his fist. "Miss yong of the Axel Group is a prominent person in the Hillsprings, why on earth would she want to see you?", he asked.
On seeing the doubts in the faces of everyone, Nora brought out the contract and gave it to Mrs. WIlson, "this is the contract, please take a look", Nora said.
The contract was like a dynamite detonated in the meeting room, sending shock waves to all parts of the meeting room!
Aaron who was still in doubt began to yell, "She must have forged it! I doubt she can handle the Axel Group!", he added.
"Aaron's right! Who does she think she is? How could strike a deal this big, a 30million dollar contract with the Axel Group! If she can do it then I would have done it long before now!", Linda supported Aaron.
"Cousin Linda, you're wrong, it is not 30 million dollars, but 60!", Nora corrected.
"Impossible!", Linda sneered, "60 million dollars? your jokes aren't funny! Do we look like fools to you? If you say you got a 60million dollars contract then I might as well be able to get a hundred!", Linda added.
"Nora, how dare you joke with us and grandma like this? Grandma! This is insane, you can't spare her for this!", Aaron addded.
Mrs. WIlson was furious, she gritted her teeth indignantly. She already thought it was almost impossible to strike 30million dollar deal, and 30minutes later Nora was back with twice what she felt was immpossible.
How could CLare play her like a fool in front of the entire family?
Mrs. Bromwick was furiously slapped the table, if she doesn't cub this act of rebel, how can she control her family? "Nora! Go and sign your resignation, in the personnel department now!", She yelled furiously.
Nora was shocked. Are this people insane? Even after showing them th e contract, they still didn't believe her.
"D_mn! It's true! The Axel Group just posted on their social media account about the 60 million dollar contract with the Bromwick Group!", someone yelled.
