Seeing they had all left, Carla came out of her hiding spot. Gazing at the departing silhouettes of the two children, her eyes were filled with uncertainty.
Both Freda and Rogan who were hiding on the stairwell upstairs also emerged awkwardly. They looked at her cautiously, not knowing what to say.
After a long while, Carla regained her senses and left…
Getting on the car, Freda quietly asked, "Do we head to South Sea villa now?"
"To Northridge." Carla lowered her head with a heavy heart.
"This… Wouldn't Zayn soon find out that we have not returned to Erihal?" Freda followed up quietly.
"You took Zayn too lightly, " Carla laughed bitterly before adding, "He should have known this!"
"Right." Freda refrained from saying more.
"Let Roland go, " Carla ordered. "Let him know that Diane will contact him soon. Also, get her to come to me when the time comes."
"Aye." Freda immediately acknowledged the order.
"Ms. Lierger, are you saying that Zayn already knew that we have caught Roland?" Rogan asked incredulously before noting, "You think he'll release Diane soon?"
"We're a conniving bunch." Carla laughed coldly. "He should have known that his cover has been blown. Instead of continuing his charade, he should just come out clean!"
"Then, should we continue our investigation?" Rogan asked.
"Forget it." Carla narrowed her eyes and remarked dangerously, "I'll wait for him to come before me!"
"Understood!"

Meanwhile, Zayn landed at Aymo City airport.
Brandy came to pick him up and reported, "Just around an hour ago, Roland was released."
"As expected, " Zayn mused before ordering, "Release Diane!"
"Aye." Brandy immediately complied.
"After Diane has been released, she'll definitely go to Roland. I'm sure Ms. Lierger will be contacted shortly after. By then…" Benard cautiously reminded, "I'm afraid those past happenings can't be concealed anymore."
"Can't keep it bottled up forever anyway, " Zayn frowned as he noted, "Right now, she's probably waiting for me to confess to her personally…"

Benard did not dare to say anything. If Mr. Jombo had not gotten into the current predicament, they would have gotten Dr. Feroma back. This was the only way to explain to Carla clearly what had happened back then.
Perhaps there was still a thin thread of hope!
However, Mr. Jombo's accident had thrown the whole plan into disarray.
"So do we head to the hospital now?" Brandy asked cautiously.
"Sure, " Zayn muttered succinctly before reminding, "Make sure to keep the media at bay, and don't let anyone know about the old man's accident."

Just as Brandy said that, the phone rang – it was a call from Layon. He passed the phone over to Zayn and informed, "Mr. Benday is on the line."
Zayn gestured knowingly. Brandy answered the phone in a calm manner before hanging up and reporting his conversation to Zayn.
"Mr. Benday took Shelley to Erihal and sought forgiveness from the Lierger family. However, they were turned away by Mr. Lierger. No matter how much Mr. Benday begged, Mr. Lierger refused to give him a chance. Now that the Dorilo Group was facing such a crisis, should no action be taken, bankruptcy was the only outcome awaiting them. Mr. Benday could not get hold of Mr. Jombo and could not contact you. The only option left for him was to contact me. Seems like the Lierger family has truly devoured the Bendays, " Benard mused before sighing, "Dannique is really ruthless when it comes to matters like this."
"Did Ms. Lierger find out about Shelley's treachery in the first place?" Brandy speculated.
"I don't think so, " Zayn conjectured calmly before continuing, "If she knew, I'm afraid she won't leave it at that!"
"Who knew that merely putting a price on her head would result in such a chain of events. If she were to find out about Shelley's attempt on her in T Nation, including causing the death of Mrs. Borah… I shudder at the thought…"
Benard could feel a chill down his spine. After all, the current Carla was definitely no pushover.
