When Nora saw that Chris was being attacked by her parents, she hissed, "Dad! Mom! It's not Chris's fault! I said it, not Chris, it was my idea. I am not ok with the fact the family is being looked down on. The years we've suffered is too much, haven't we suffered enough?", Nora said.
"You just can't agree to this challenge. Even Mrs. Bromwick, your grandma goes on her own, they still wouldn't take her serious", Sarah, Nora's mom explained.
Chris tried to emit a warm smile, he knows that even if he ends a life, his cliquish father and mother in-law, would still not believe that he now owns the Axel Group.
Just then, there was a knock on the door.
"I am coming!", Sarah said aloud as she walked close to the door.
Chris immediately tried to spot who was at the door. He saw a charming and talented looking young man wearing an Armani suit, and his wrist a Patek Geraldippe watch, seemingly worthing about 5 million dollars.
"Oh my! It's Harry! What are you doing here?", Chris's mother-in-law said excited.
The young man at the door, was none other than Harry Miller, a son in the Miller family, one had been trying tooth and nail to get Nora.
Harry looked at her and smiled, "Auntie, I got an information that Nora was about to acquire a contract with the Axel Group, so I came to give some tips", he explained.
"Wow! You're a real savior to our family!", Sarahd said and was very excited.
Sarah was excited, the look in the eyes of Harry was like looking at her son-in-law. With open arms, she welcome Harry, "Harry, could you help my daughter strike a deal with the Axel Group!", she added.
Harry replied with a nodd and a warm smiling, ignoring Chris who stood not so far off, treating him like a mere ant. He walked up to Nora and smiled, "you didn't even tell me about such a serious matter, how could you do such a thing? But nevertheless, don't worry, the Axel Group and my company are in good terms. I will talk to my dad, he should be able to pull a few strings to help you out!", Harry explained.
Honestly, Mr Miller, Harry's father wasn't as prestigious as his son, Harry made him appear, he was just trying to win her heart.
Nora had long known that Harry had eyes for her, "Harry, I am greatful, but I'll pass, I'll figure something out on my own!", Nora replied.
On hearing this, "what!", Nora's mom, Sarah exclaimed, "Are you out of your mind?!", she added. "Harry, was kind enough to come all this way to help you, how could you say that?", Sarah said.
Nora was speechless, "Harry, I would like to know, how can you be of help to Nora? Isn't the Axel Group out of your league? Why claim now that you can be of any help to Nora?", Chris asked intriguingly.
Harry contemptously sneered, "What do you know? The Miller family and Axel Group has been collaborating for years now. And now, from their 2billion dollars project, my family is going to get at least 35% percent! I'll simply ask my dad to allocate about 10 million dollars to Nora as a subcontract. Wonn't this help her complete her task?", Harry said.
"Wow! I honestly didn't know the depth of the relationship between the Miller and the Axel Group!", Chris replied.
Wendly snorted immediately, "Absolutely! I mean who in the Aurous doesn't know that? who doesn't know that the Miller family had connections with Axel Group?", Harry boasted.
When Harry was done talking, he turned to Chris, "let me give you a piece of advice. Yo are like a frog in the well, it's best you leave Nora. A futureless man like you will only hinder and bring her down. Trust me, you are more like a burden to her", he added.
"That's enough! I am sorry Harry, I don't need your help and please mind the way you talk to my husband!", Nora said pissed.
"Nora, can't you see I am trying to help you? What did you see in the useless man anyways? Why are you defending him?", Harry asked.
"He is not useless, he is my husband!", Nora further defended.
Harry got angry immediately, "Okay then! I'll take your words, do what you want! I'll love to see how you solve this on your own! Don't come crying to me when you fail, cause I gave you a chance!", he said, turned around and walked out slamming the door behind himself.
Sarah immediately ran after him to explain to him, but he had gone too far.
In anger, she slapped her thighs, pointed her finger at Chris's nose, "You! You are so...You are just useless, you are nothing but a dead weight to Nora! Harry kindly offer assistance but you made him angry!", she said to Chris angered.
"He's all talk mom, there's no way he can get the contract with the Axel Group! He's of no help to Nora", Chris said.
Chris's mother-in-law was full with rage, "Gosh! You are just a piece of bullcr_p! The Miller family are going to get 35% of the Axel Groups project!", Sarah said furiously.
Chris was pissed but refused to show it. 'I don't know what the Miller family is capable of doing, but I know my Axel Group will not stoop low to partner with them! And if they did or are doing, it stops from now on!' Chris thought in his heart.
Nora had no idea what Chris was thinking, "mom, please don't blame Chris. We'll chat some more when I get back from the Axel Group!", Nora said.
Sarah sighed at length, she felt that God was not fair to her. She was married to a useless man, and her daughter was too, married to an even more useless man.
