After hearing her words, I felt my heart tighten.
My gaurdian always warned that curses of a grieving heart are very powerful.
I originally planned to make up a little story to subside her grief but now.....
"Let's go!", She said standing up.
Without waiting for us to leave, shee stepped out.
Davis looked at me with terrified eyes seemingly asking: "what are you going to do now?"
Helen who also seemed to understand looked at me with her eyes seemingly asking same question.
I ignored these things commanded Davis: "hurry, help her up, let's get out of here!"
After speaking, I stepped out.
"Let's go!", I said to Mrs. Ping.
……
Shortly after we got back to the prison.
It could be seen on the way that the zombies had greatly reduced in number. Derick must be done cleaning up the place, we better hurry with cure before he does something crazy or worse leaves.
"Open the cell!", I commanded the messenger Paul.
"But... But... The keys.... ", He said excusing himself.
Seeing this, I got irritated and stepped forward, pushed him aside and walked up to the guards whosd bleedings had now stopped, took their keys and walked to the cell we previously occupied now habiting the 3 zombies whose kneecaps I shot earlier.
"It's open!", I exclaimed in shock giving Paul a stern look.
"I... I... ", He stammered scratching his head.
"Shut up! There's no time for this. Mrs. Ping, here they are, come and begin the process!", I said seriously.
Mrs Ping walked forward and said looking at them in irritation, "I need their eyes!"
"Davis!", I said looking at Davis with commanding eyes.
"Their eyes?!", Davis exclaimed reluctant.
"You are probably alive cause you tried to save me, so consider my debt repaid. Don't forget I found you unconscious in a house surrounded by zombies and saved your life, so you actually owe me your life!", I explained.
"What?!", Davis said with a frozen expression.
Before he could say another word, I added: "in addition, I am your commander! So what ever reason you wish to use to carry out my orders, go ahead!"
As soon as my voice fell, everyone looked at me; in their eyes, I could see their bewilderment.
Davis exhaled heavily and walked inside the cell with a slight frown.
I ignored all of this.
After all we are getting closer to getting Derick back, these people's thoughts don't matter.
After a while, Davis was done getting the eyes out for Mrs. Ping.
The growls and stench from these things were piercing, arousing nausea.
All the prison held their noses and spat occasionally, all but Mrs. Ping. She seemed to be use to it. That or the pain she felt made her loose her basic senses.
"All done!", Davis said as he rushed out and threw up.
"Mrs. Ping?!", I said as Mrs. Ping mixed the potion.
"Here!", She said immediately, handing me the cup of mixed potion.
"How do I get him to drink this?!", I asked looking at it with confusion.
She explained impatiently: "He doesn't have to drink it, just find away for a portion to get in! Either by mouth, nose, ear or any opening, or by injection or injury. Which ever way you can."
"Okay!", I replied nodding with understanding as I thought of the options given.
Get Derick to drink it is almost impossible, I haven't seen him eat anything since he died.
Getting it to go throw his nose or ear, is like shooting a thread into a neeele's eyes several meters away from the shooters positions. Not impossible but a centimeter away from it.
Injection or injury, as far as I have seen, Derick hasn't sustained any injury since.
Except once!
"The dark blade!", I said in realization.
"Let's go get him!", I said about to step out when I felt a grip on my arm, followed by a voice which said: "Not so fast young lady!"
"Your promise!", She added.
Hearing this, I felt cold a breeze blow inside me.
What do I tell her?
To further pressure me, she added: "remember not to miss a detail."
Now that I have this potion, telling her the truth wouldn't do any harm to me whatsoever. If she tries to act violent, she can easily be tamed. Unless she has something else up her sleeves.
My only fear doing this is the hatred she would have for Derick after telling her the truth. With the knowledge she has, even if she alone can't take down Derick, training up her child to do so wouldn't be a problem.
If that happens and they successfully take Derick down, wouldn't that be equal to the curse she had earlier pronounced?
Also, what if the potion in my hand is not complete and she's holding back an ingredient. Even brainless vessels like the commander uses this trick alot, how much more a smart woman like herself. If she finds out it's Derick wouldn't she just let me go with it. Who knows how much harm it would be without that potion, wouldn't that just be settling her wishes in such a short period of time?
Therefore the answer given can't be the truth.
I gritted my teeth, looked at her in the eyes.
"Your husband was killed by me!"
To be continued.......
