"Uhh??", The brawny man who asked groaned in confusion.
"What does that have to do with anything. Look kid, if you don't get out of here right now, I'll.....", He added and was interupted with a punch directly to his abdomen.
Guwel...
He threw up blood violently.
"How did I end up with these dumb individuals?!", Sam yelled as he looked at the guy coughing and holding his knees.
"Where's this car you speak of?", He asked.
"It's outside...", I replied acting a bit tipsy.
"You better not be joking with me kid!", Sam added as he got up.
"Let's go then!", I added as I walked out. They followed close behind.
When I got close, I opened the car and got in and reved the engine a bit.
Sam outside smiled slightly as he stared at it with lustful eyes.
"Like it?!", I asked as held my key up with a finger.
"Did you steal it? You don't look like a rich kid....", He said looking at my outfit.
On hearing this I put a serious face and asked for a phone.
"What for?", He asked.
"I want to prove to you that it wasn't stolen..", I added.
Sam looked into my unwavering eyes and brought out his phone and handed it to me.
I immediately dialed Jane's mom's number which I saw on a document in the living room.
"That's my mom, tell her that I had an accident and ask her what car I drove...", I added.
"Hello!", A voice spoke aloud from the phone as soon as my voice fell.
"Hello!!", Jane's mom repeated.
Sam collected the phone and hesitated for a bit, then finally replied: "Hello ma'am, a boy was found in a car accident, I.... Is he your son?!"
As expected, Sam spoke stupidly but good enough to get the answers I wanted him to get.
He stretched out the phone and whispered, "what's your name?"
"Caleb?!!!", They heard Jane's mom scream.
With that, I smiled and nodded slightly.
"Yes... Is he your son?", Sam quickly added.
"He... He.... Yes he is! Where is he?", She replied.
"Just for confirmation, what car does he drive?", He asked.
"A BMW, I am not sure the brand, but it's blue...", Jane's mom said in a panick.
On hearing this Sam smiled and turned to the car.
"Please who is this?!", Jane's voice yelled in a panick.
"Hello!!", She screamed on.
Just as Sam was about to hung up, I snatched the phone from him and replied: "I am fine Jane, tell mom I'll be home soon. I might not be coming back home with the car though..."
I tried to sound as weak as possible.
"Where are you?!", Jane asked, but I hung up immediately.
"Phew!", I added and forced out a belge, acting unserious.
I only replied to give these guys an impression that I was stupid and ready to loose the car and also to reduce Jane and her mom's worry so they don't involve the police.
"So what's the deal?", He asked after smiling at the rest of his subordinate.
"Just a simple game of Math Machine with your best, if I loose 3 games, you have my car...", I replied.
On hearing this, Sam couldn't hide his smile as he occasionally glanced at Roger whose expression was a bit serious as he stared at me intently.
"What's wrong boy?!", Sam asked patting Roger on his back.
"I.... I... ", Roger stuttered.
"Speak up boy! God has sent us another opportunity... Or are you planning to miss out on all the opportunities thrown at us today..", Sam added still wearing a smile.
"No... It's just that... He is a bit too confident..", Roger added.
As soon as his voice fell, Sam's face changed a bit.
This Roger isn't dumb.
The kid really thinks with his brain.
"Come on Math boy, are you scared?!", I teased sounding playful and a bit drunk.
"Boy, if you play any games with us here, be sure you won't be leaving here with both your legs!", He turned to me added a bit suspicious, and also to give Roger a feeling of security.
"Like wise....!!", I added as I danced to the Gambling Den.
"Come on Roger, I've seen you play. Even that professor wouldn't have been a match for you!", Sam tried to encourage Roger.
Soon we were all in and in front of the Math Machine.
"Excuse me, what's in it for you?!", Roger asked standing next to me.
"How much do you have?!", I asked knowing that all they had was 623 dollars.
"I... I..." Roger replied and subconsciously turned to Sam.
"Here!", Sam said and slammed the money on a table not so far from the Math Machine.
"That's 623 USD!", he added.
"We both know that's not a worthy bet...", I added.
"..... What do you want?", Sam spoke impatiently.
"5000 dollars!", I replied.
"Are you looking to buy a new car?", He added laughing.
"If you ain't playing, then I'll leave!", I added taking a few steps back.
Sam saw me move and for a moment, he was unable to say a word.
The only person whose heart beat was happy about this action was Roger.
"Wait!", Sam suddenly said.
"I already lost 5000 dollars today, I don't have another, but! You can have anything you want here in this Shop!", Sam added with gritted teeth.
As he spoke he occasionally glanced at Roger on the side whose mind was obviously telling him not to embark on this bet, but he wasn't in position to refuse.
On hearing this I turned to Sam and said with a straight face: "Can I trust your words?"
"....I swear on my daughter's life!", Sam replied with a straight face.
As soon as he finished speaking, everyone around apart from Roger had an obvious shock on their faces.
With this, I could conclude that the next phase of my plan was 100% complete.
