I looked at the zombie in complete confusion.
"Xender! Get out of there...", Davis yelled.
Before I could regain myself, we were both on the floor.
On the floor, he pulled himself up with both his hands on the floor as he looked directly to my face.
He seemingly had pushed me from the zombies path.
"Wow!", He exclaimed.
"I never imagined you'll be this pretty up close", he added with a smile.
"Are you out of your mind?!", I said as I pushed him off me.
We both got up and found the zombie eating up another settler.
I quickly picked up my bow and inserted several arrows on it.
I shot 3 at once, aiming for its vital parts.
Its head, neck and gutts.
The arrows quickly went through, except the one that went for its head. That one stuck out.
To my greatest surprise, it stopped eating the settler, and sent him/her flying; It had eaten the settler so much I could no longer tell the gender of its meal.
After throwing the settler feet's I the air like a mere stone, it turned its head almost 360 degrees to I and Davis's direction.
"....Xender", Davis whispered.
"What?!", I replied in a relatively low tone.
"Run!", He yelled and pulled me by my hand.
The zombie immediately began to chase.
"We can't out run it!", I said aloud about to turn to see how far away we were from it.
Before I could complete the turn, I was on the ground; the monster was on me.
"Xender!", I heard Davis yell.
Looking at my front, the zombies ugly fave was directly Infront if me, its saliva and blood dripping on my face.
Its hand, having 4 fingers and having long nails on about 3, went up and was about to come down on my face.
I closed my eyes helplessly.
Pow!
The sound of a fired gun was heard.
Sending the zombie on me flying.
"Xender!", I heard the commander and Helen yell.
When I opened my eyes, the zombie on me was no more.
The both of them rushed to where I was.
Dad holding a shortgun and assisted Helen whose leg seemed to have been broken.
"What are you doing here? I thought I told those nimrods to keep you in the cell!", he said angered.
"It's not fair commander. I am a sub commander, I can't be hiding behind my subordinates!", I said as i stood up.
"Commander, watch out!", I heard Davis yell.
The commander quickly pushed Helen off himself and was rushed to the ground by the bleeding zombie; seemingly the one he shot.
"Dad... Xender! Help him!", Helen yelled from the ground as I searched the ground for my bow.
"Dad!", she screamed as the zombies claws went up.
With a slash, the zombies hand fell off.
Only then did I realize that the sword wielding sub commander was next to it.
"Commander Ping!", Helen yelled excited.
The commander completely ignored her, as he plunged his sword through the zombies head and said: "Sub commander Xender, we have to let him out!"
"Let what out?!", the commander asked surprised as he was being pulled off the ground by Master Ping.
"Are you sure it's safe?!", I asked as we ignored dad's question.
"Right now is not the time to look at safety! They have us surrounded. And unless you want to risk the life of the settlers and escape with some, we have to let him out. Moreover, I know how to put him back to sleep!", he explained.
"I don't like this!", I said p_ssed, with a hint of tears in my voice.
"We shouldn't treat him like an animal!", I added.
"Ms. Xender, please, for the sake of the settlers. My wife and I are expecting a baby, we really don't have a choice. Even though I have been able to get most of the settlers to the safe house, I know it's only a matter of time before these monsters discover and destroy the safe house.", he added as he pulled his sword out of the dead zombie.
"What are you guys talking about?!", the confused commander asked and remained ignored.
I stood there speechless for a couple of seconds.
The silence was broken by a loud scream.
"Sub commander Xender!"
I turned to see who it was, and discover it was April, bleeding and sweating with her clothes wrecked and dirty.
"April!", I said as she plunged into my arms panting uncontrollably.
"What is it?!", I asked as she continued trying to catch her breath.
"My brother and some settlers have been sorrounded in the safe house.", she said.
"Namita!", Mr. Ping exclaimed about to break down.
He quickly began to run in the direction of the safe house screaming: "Namita! Namita!"
"Commander Ping!", I yelled as he ran off.
"Mr. Ping!", Davis caught up with him, pushing him to the ground.
"Get off me!", Mr. Ping said as he punched Davis in the face. Without hesitating, Davis punched him back saying: "Get a hold of yourself man! Even if you get there, what are you going to do alone?!"
Davis turned to me and said with a sorrowful voice: "Let him out Xender, it's the only way!"
"We have to Ms. Xender!", April said crying.
I sighed and said helplessly: "Alright, let's wake Derick up!"
