I drove aimlessly for awhile, getting a bit familiar with the town until Mrs. Jane woke up.
"Where are we?", she said raising her head up as she looked around.
"I don't know, you tell me!", I said looking at her.
"How did you know?!", she said as she looked around in surprise.
"We are really close to my house! Take a left!", she added and I obeyed quite surprised but didn't utter a word.
"Stop beside that abandoned car!", she added and I drove to the point where she requested and then put the car to a stop.
"We are here!", she added.
"Alright let's go!", I said holding the door's handle.
But she remained there, hesitant to make a move.
"Is it that bad?!", I asked.
"I haven't seen her in years.....", she replied.
"Hmmmmm..... what if she's dead?", I asked in sobber and thoughtful manner knowing fully well that unless the fight had killed every atom of bond they have, she would react to that immediately.
As expected she said: "She can't be dead! My mom can't be dead!"
As she spoke her eyes began to fume up and her voice began to break as she stepped down from the car, and hurriedly rushed towards the door.
"Mom!", she cried as she banged on the door.
"Jane?!", A voice sounding happy replied aloud from inside.
"Mom!!", Her voice got up 10 points in excitement as the person inside ran out still calling: "Jane is that you?!"
Just then her mom opened the door and they both began to hug themselves.
At this point, I knew my mission was successful, good food and a place to sleep. Especially since we are in Beau Bae's territory and awesome time to explore and see what she's really up to in this town.
Just then, I stepped down from the car and began to walk towards them.
"Look at you! You looking almost as old as I am!", she said as I got closer.
"I told you not to go, but you ignored all my warnings, saying you wanted to explore the world, how far have you gone now? You are only 29, Jane, you looking almost 40!", she added looking at her face.
Twenty what?! Even I failed at getting this one.
What the hell must Benjamin have put her through? Did she fall in an old age potion.
"Please mom! I chose my path!", she added.
"And you are back here!", her mom said with an "I told you so expression" once again.
I see why she wanted to stay away from home.
"Who's the pale one?", her mom asked looking at me as I approached politely.
"..... No...... no... don't tell me he is your new boyfriend!", her mom added in a dramatic manner.
"No mom! His name's Caleb, he saved my life.", she added as I stood in front of her mom.
"Young man how old are you?", she asked immediately.
"I am 18!", I replied.
"18! Are you out of school? Where did you get that car?", she said looking at the car's key and then the car behind me.
"Are his parents rich?", she said turning to Jane with her pitch slightly elevated.
"Mom I really don't know much about him...", Jane replied.
"Oh my God!", her mom added and then went on her knees.
"I thank you creator!", she said looking at the sky and then stood up immediately.
"How could you go around with people you don't know?!", her mom asked as she stood up.
"How many times do I have to tell you that he saved my life!", Jane replied.
"Hmmmm!", She exhaled heavily and said nothing else.
I quickly interjected with a question: "Please where's the nearest car dealer.?!"
"You want to buy another car?", She asked looking at the car behind me.
"A buying dealer", I replied.
"We don't have a very good dealer here.... Best people do here is scrapping", she replied.
"So where can I get that car scrapped?", I asked pointing at the car we drove in with, whose back was bruised by the now dead driver.
"Scrap that?!", Jane's mom asked aloud in an obviously surprised manner.
"Yes ma'am!", I replied.
"Why would you want to do that?! You just got here, how are you going to leave!", She added sounding concerned.
But I could tell from her speech that she had a thing for money and luxury.
"Don't worry mom, I'll use the money I get from scraping it to leave, but not before giving Jane's beautiful mom a piece of appreciation for her hospitality.", I replied with a smile.
As soon as she heard this, she could not hold back her smile.
"Come in come in!", She said ushering us in.
"I would really love to, but not before scrapping that car; I really need some cash in hand!", I added.
"Alright! Alright!", She said and walked forward, shutting the door behind her.
"Let's go then!", She said walking ahead of us to the car.
"Jane!", I quickly called.
"....Yes?!", She replied looking at me with a bit of shame.
"I need your account details slipped to me as soon as possible!", I added as we both walked behind her mom.
"Okay!", She nodded understanding.
……
We all got into the car and headed to the demolishion site as directed by Jane's mom who couldn't stop smiling and admiring the car, still trying to persuade me not to scrap it.
As soon as we got there, I heard someone cry repeatedly: "Help.... Help...."
Seemingly beaten up so much, the voice was too faint to even determine the gender.
