They finally arrived in Quaila central and began to sneak their way to it's main chambers.
It was easy for them because the city was almost empty.
Even the few persons that were there paid more attention to getting to the huge venue as fast as possible.
The population present had arrived a day in advance, no one dared move on that same day, wether with a horse or whatever you rode on, you'll definitely not get in.
The money made on this day is usually the highest recorded every decade.
The ones who gain the most are the business Tycoons like that of Stay Bull and some other businesses.
But amongst all the ones who hits the jackpot is the Quaila's Central's finance department. Aside coming early, one had to purchase tickets to get into the venue in the first place; after entering where you sit is up to you.
The tickets are almost infinite, they make so much, the auditorium gets filled and those with ticket may not be able to squeeze themselves in.
But the fact remains that all who goes in either purchased a ticket or a ticket was purchased for them by someone else. Also, faking the tickets were impossible, they usually bring in Psychometry masters that touches and determines the origin of these tickets. If fakes were found, the defaulter is arrested immediately.
The stadium used for the Apical battle is big enough to host thousands of persons. Initially this was good enough, but the population had reason over the decades. This year's battle, just like the finance departments records the highest amount in decades, so does the population; apparently.
Miguel and Kayla had their disguise on as they held unto Claire as though they were a family, while Clark remained upright, leading them through the crowd. They headed towards the apical Chambers in an attempt to get to Lord Palmer before he left for the battle.
When they arrived at the main chambers they found out that it was locked down. Not even the back doors were open.
Just then, they saw someone running. They turned quickly and saw a guard running away.
They quickly began to run after him.
Suddenly a vine sprouted from the ground and swung him up.
As soon as this happened they stopped running as they stood in front of the guard hanging upside down as a vine held his leg.
"Nice job Clark!", Miguel said as he walked closer to the guard.
"But I didn't do that My Lord!", Clark replied.
As soon as his voice fell, they both subconsciously turned back to look at Kayla.
Her clenched fist was lifted up as she stood there shaking and was obviously about to fall.
She had been overly stressed. In her condition, she walked for hours and couldn't stop because of the guilt in her heart. But now, she could no longer keep up, this was beyond her.
"Kayla!", Miguel quickly ran towards her as he brought a vine to catch her.
Boom!
The guards whom she had suspended suddenly fell in front of Clark. Before he could recover, Clark had picked him up with his fingers tightly holding his waist.
"Arghhh!!', he groaned as Clark continued squeezing.
"Where's Lord Palmer?!", Clark asked.
"He's…… he's obviously in the Apical… battle!", The guard cried.
"Obviously?!", Clark replied feeling insulted and so tightened his grip some more.
"What about Mercury?!", Miguel who was on the floor with Kayla in his arms asked.
The guard remained quiet as he sobbed.
"Didn't you hear his question?!", Clark shook the guard as he increased his grip.
"No! No! No!", The guard began to cry.
"Where's Lord Mercury?!", Clark asked.
"He's in the guillotine ward!!", The guard cried in distress.
When Miguel heard this, happiness surged his heart, because he knew that that was one of Mercury's execution methods for defaulters. But suddenly, he remembered that Mercury had not been vindicated yet, which meant that he probably was the one to be executed.
To be continued....
