We got back to the room and saw everyone but Chloe smiling.
"Here the are!", Dad exclaimed smiling at us.
"Where have you been?", He asked.
"We've… We've…", I stammered as I looked at Kareen.
"We've been in the ladies room…", Kareen replied as she walked casually towards them.
"Jimmy's mom has woken up!", Dad said excitedly as Jimmy smiled.
"Really?", I exclaimed.
"Yeah!", He replied smiling bright.
"Where's she?", I asked.
"We were all about to go pay her a visit!", Dad added.
While we talked, Kareen walked towards Chloe who stood beside her sister.
I couldn't hear what they were saying; but from what I saw, after speaking, they both walked out of the room.
Courtney didn't seem too okay with this.
As soon as I noticed her about to follow, I rushed towards her and stood in front of her.
"Hello!", I said with a smile while mom and dad continued talking to Jimmy.
"Hey……", she said surprised to see me in front of her.
"How are you now?", I asked.
"I am fine, thanks for asking…", she said about to walk further.
I stepped back with my crutches as I continued talking: "wait!"
"What?", She asked with a strange expression.
"Uh…… Soooo… do you… will you?", I said thinking about more things to say to stall for Kareen.
"What are you doing?", She asked with a confused expression.
Just when I couldn't think of anything else to say or do, Kareen and Chloe stepped in.
"Phew!", I exclaimed.
"What?!", Courtney exclaimed more bewildered.
"Have a nice day!", I said with a smile and walked my way out of her front.
"How long is she going to be staying here?", The happy Jimmy asked.
"I think about a day or 2", dad replied.
"Enough with her Jimmy, let's go see your mom!", Dad said.
"Alright Mr. Monrow. I apologize for the awkward question Mrs. Monrow……", He said with his hand on his head.
"It's okay young gynaecologist! Say hi to your mom for me will you?!", Mom replied with a smile.
"Of course!", He replied chuckling.
"Tell her Karmen said hi too", mom replied.
"Karmen?", I exclaimed.
"Yes Katie, your brother's name is Karmen!", She replied.
"Please you guys might have to excuse us!", A nurse said as soon as she walked in.
"We were just about leaving…", dad said as we all stepped out.
……
Led by Jimmy, we got to his mom's room.
"Mrs. Bell!", Dad said as soon as we walked in.
Mrs. Bell tilted her neck alittle and saw us smiling and staring at.
As soon as she saw us, she too began to smile as tears filled her eyes.
"Mom, the Morows came to say hi!", Jimmy said with a smile.
"I can see that Jimmy!", His mom said sarcastically and we all began to laugh.
For a moment, I began to look around at the laughing and happy faces around me.
Jimmy, making a dorky face, being the object of ridicule.
Dad, smiling as always.
Kareen, laughing really had with a hand on Jimmy's back.
Chloe, still having a kinda straight face but obviously trying to fake a smile.
Courtney, laughing and looking at Jimmy in a somewhat shy manner.
Wait! How did I not see this earlier.
I really hope it's not what I am thinking…
Just then, another smile caught my attention.
Denzel stood outside the window smiling as well.
