"Yes."
The maid held up the candlestick and led Derila to Clark's room.
The journey was bleak everywhere.
The castle was cut off from water, electricity and gas, so at night everyone had to use
candlelight to keep warm and drink water and eat bread and biscuits during the day.
But there was now very little food and water left in the castle, so everyone had to remain
basically starving to death.
That's how they made it through the seven days, but the biggest problem was the
wounded, who simply couldn't make it through.
Clark, for example, had run out of his previous medicine and his wounds started to
become inflamed.
Luckily Derila was prepared and came in with his backpack.
Seeing the unconscious Clark on the hospital bed, Derila immediately gave him
medicine and treated his wounds.
Dominic also gave the food and water in his backpack to everyone and whispered,
"Because of the fear of being discovered, we can only bring this much for now, you guys
share it first and we'll figure out what to do."
"Thank you, thank you so much."
Everyone was grateful, what they had brought was not only food and medicine, but also
the hope to live.
Derila had someone find a wet towel to put on Clark and give him a needle, then
she distributed the medicine in her backpack to everyone, the medicine she carried now
was limited and could only temporarily stabilise everyone's toxicity, it couldn't cure them
completely, but it was good enough to stabilise them.
Everyone was very grateful and talked to her about the recent events.
After she had escaped, William was taken away and Clark thought then to go out and
try to find a way, but the castle was soon closed.
Someone then came and announced that Charlie had taken over the investigation into
the poisoning of the castle and because of suspected insider problems, the castle was
now to be sealed off and no one was allowed in or out.
Everyone was stunned at the time.
That Charlie was the cousin who loved to bully William, and William had once
suspected that he had poisoned the castle, but now he was asked to take over the
investigation.
As expected, Charlie soon had the electricity, water and gas disconnected from the
castle, and had someone stationed on the outskirts of the castle, not allowing anyone in
or out, and not bringing them food or water, leaving them to fend for themselves.
Clark tried to call out for help, but found that the communication equipment had also
been cut off, and he could not make any calls or contact the outside world.
Then later it became what it is now, and everyone kept expecting someone to come to
their rescue, but day after day passed, and when Clark all fell ill, they also lost hope of
life.
Hearing these words, Derila was furious and unforgivable, those people were
simply heartless and inhumane.
At that moment, Clark on the hospital bed responded. Derila hurriedly went up to
check on him, he had gradually woken up, Dominic had him fed with water again, and
soon, he became conscious.
When he looked clearly at Derila, his whole body became excited: "Ms.Feroma, you
have finally come back, we are saved, we are saved."
"Clark, don't get excited, take the medicine first."
Derila fed him the medicine again and told him to drink more water.
Soon, Clark's spirits also improved and he turned his head to look at the side,
seemingly searching for something in the crowd.
"What are you looking for?" Dominic asked him.
"You're…?"
"This is Monica's partner." Derila introduced.
"Oh, it's Dominic, I almost didn't recognise him." Clark squeezed out a smile and
eagerly asked Derila, "Ms.Feroma, didn't Mr.Lierger's men escort you here?"
He thought that when Derila returned to Danontand, she should have come with
Daemon, and even if Daemon was too dignified to come here, his men would have
come.
But he had just searched around and didn't see anyone from the Lierger family.
"No, I went back to Danontand's alone with Monica." Derila knew what he was
thinking, she said, "Daemon refused to help me."
Hearing these words, Clark's eyes instantly turned bleak again, lowering his head and
sighing deeply.
