For the next few days, everything was calm and quiet.
Derila woke up early every day to practise her martial arts, refine her poisons and
concealed weapons, and only went to William's place at three or four in the afternoon.
In the past, when she went there, apart from the treatment, she would also enjoy the
flowers and tea with William and talk about medicine, but now, she was always in a
hurry to get there, and then rushed back home after the treatment.
When William asked Derila if something had happened at home, she simply said
that she had a lot of work to do at the orphanage.
William didn't ask any more questions, except that every time he saw Anthony driving
outside the yard to pick her up, his eyes became complicated.
"That Anthony really, like a heel, comes over every night and waits, Ms.Feroma gets a call
from him and leaves right away, without finishing a cup of tea." Clark could see what
was on his master's mind.
"Anthony and Derila are childhood friends, like brother and sister, he's just
concerned about her." William's tone seemed calm.
"Brother and sister? Why did I hear the Giblo family's bodyguard say that Anthony is
Dr. Feroma's ex-boyfriend?" Clark was a little puzzled.
"It's probably because Derila used to let Anthony be a shield on purpose in order to
reject Mr.Lierger." William smiled faintly, "Derila wouldn't like Anthony."
"That too." Clark hastily agreed, "Anthony has mediocre qualifications, not even a tenth
of His Highness! How could Ms.Feroma like him?"
"Hmm." William agreed with Clark in a rare moment, "Humans are all naturally attracted
to strong creatures, no one is an exception!"
"That's right, no one is your competition except Mr.Lierger." Clark exclaimed.
"Speaking of Mr.Lierger, he doesn't seem to be making much noise lately." William
was a little puzzled, "It's been so many days and he hasn't contacted Derila or
come to see her. What's he been up to?"
"Could it be that he's given up?" Clark guessed, "A man as arrogant as him must not be
willing to bow down for love."
"It shouldn't be that easy to give up." William thought otherwise, "It's because he's
arrogant by nature that he doesn't fall for someone easily, and once he does, it's not so
easy to let go."
"Then why doesn't he come to Ms.Feroma?" Clark couldn't understand, "It's been almost
twenty days since Ms.Feroma returned to S Nation, and he didn't even come when the
two of them were in such a mess, if it were you, you would probably have chased him
over at once."
"I'm an idle man." William laughed, "He's just finished settling Frank, I'm afraid he has
an endless list of things to attend to, and at times like this, naturally, business comes
first."
"Well, that means it's still not like enough." Clark picked up on that.
"Well, if it were me, I would never do that to Derila." For once, William agreed.
"All said and done, it's just not like enough, if it were me, I would never do this to you."
In the car, Anthony said the same thing.
Because Sloan had come to say goodbye to Derila, saying that he was about to go
to the airport and depart for Xendale.
Derila said, "Have a safe trip", and then let Anthony drive away.
Anthony felt that Daemon was really insincere. He had obviously made Derila
angry, but instead of coming to apologise, he let his subordinates say so, and now he
even transferred his subordinates away.
Anthony was indignant, so he said some angry words.
Derila looked calm and just said, "Let's pretend it never started, I didn't suffer any
losses anyway."
"No losses?" Anthony heard the point at once, "Meaning, you and him haven't that…"
"Of course not." Derila glared at him.
"That's good, then." Anthony was overjoyed.
Derila didn't say anything, just looked out the window, the surface was calm. Her
heart was actually complicated hard to say.
Now that even Sloan had been transferred back, it seemed that Daemon was really
going to give up on Derila. In the end, he just doesn't love her that much.
