To everyone's surprise, Chris slowly got up.
All in the hall immediately turned their eyes to him.
"Chris, what on earth are you doing? Sit!", Sarah said terrified.
He didn't seem to understand the occasion they were. They were so many honourable guests present, and none dimmed it fit to stand up, Chris the useless son-in-law, what gives him the impression that the spotlight at this moment is for him?
Kelvin and Benjamin equally looked at themselves, secretly communicating through their hearts, 'd_mn, could he really be the Chairman of the Axel Group?', they thought.
But after taking a second glance, they shook their heads.
That's not possible, If he truly was the chairman of the Axel Group, why would Sarah scold him?
"What doing? You useless idiot, sit back down!", Aaron yelled from the stage were he stood.
Chris looked at him coldly, then walked to where Stella Yong was ignoring their gaze and comments completely.
When he got to where she was, he whispered some words to her hearing.
While she listened, she nodded slightly. Seeing this, everyone's heart became tightened in an instant.
Stella Yong! The vice-chairman of the Axel Group, a well known beautiful and hard-working woman in the city! Chris, a useless live-in son-in-law, how did they know themselves? And from the looks of things, they had quite a strong relationship.
When he was done whispering, he walked out of the hall, not caring about the countless number of people staring at him, he went in search of his wife.
Immediately after, Stella Yong got up and walked to the stage, took the microphone, "Hello everyone, I am Stella Yong, while Mr. Chris was outside the hotel, he encountered our chairman, and was asked to pass a message to us", Stella said to hearing of all.
On hearing this, and satisfying their doubts about Chris not being the Chairman of the Axel Group, they felt relieved.
Kelvin exhaled in relief, "Just because he met someone once, so he seized the opportunity to take the place of the assistant. He really is useless", he said disdainfully.
Benjamin shrugged, "that's how the little man behaves", he added me smile.
Stella Yong who was still on the podium turned to Mrs. Bromwick, "The Axel Group's chairman said I should inform you that he has cancelled the collaboration with the Bromwick family, and so the signed contract you had is now invalid", she said.
And boom, the crowd exploded. None expected such from Stella Yong, her sudden remarks stunned the entire crowd.
Mrs. Bromwick went pale in an instant, "Please, Miss Yong, what wrong has Bromwick family done done?", She asked eagerly.
After inviting those in the Hillsprings with such good reputation, thinking she could use the opportunity to be well known in the city. If seen by all in such a display, cooperating with the Axel Group, the Bromwick family will be raised high in the social circle.
Stella Yong turned to her, "initially this contract was made with Ms. Nora, and our Chairman had it approved with the her name as the project tag, but you decided to make your own claims and choose an entirely different person to take charge and bridge what once was. Sorry, we do not accept such!", She replied.
When Stella was done, she dropped the microphone and went straight to the door without a look back.
Mrs. Bromwick, the old grandma went even more pale. Like as statue, she went down, and was motionless on stage for a moment. She never would have thought that, her decision to act smart would termite such an opportunity for good.
If only she knew, she never would have allowed Aaron to take Nora's place as the director.
Aaron too was shocked to his feet. What just happened? It seemed as though Stella Yong did not like him, but he never offended her.
Aaron could not hold himself back, "Grandma, don't worry, you've already annouced the directorship position, I promise you won't regret it!", He said.
On hearing this, the old woman pushed her self up and slapped him with all the force she could gather, "you fool! Even at such a time, you dare talk about the directorship position?", She said in fury.
