As Harry left, Aaron was coming in with Linda, his sister, and Benjamin her fiancé.
Walking beside Benjamin was a smart looking man in a suit. They kinda looked alike.
And coincidentally, Aaron bumped into Harry as rushed out of the hotel, "Harry! I just heard that something happened to your family. How true is it?", Aaron asked.
Harry pushed Aaron aside, "I am finished, it's all over...", He said as he hastenly walked away.
"Harry, what's the problem?", Aaron asked as Harry walked away.
Harry nodded his head vigorously, as he panicked away without saying a word.
He knew that if he said anything, he would be dead by tomorrow, so he dared not. And so, he pushed Aaron's hands off himself and ran off as though he was going to die if he didn't.
Aaron watched him run away, "It seems it really is the end of the Miller family, but d_mn, that happened a bit too fast. They were very okay yersterday, then boom, they went bankrupt", Aaron said, sighed and walked away.
Aaron got into the hall, on seeing Chris, he conceived an evil thought. he walked to Chris, "hey Nora, let me show you our honourable guest tonight. That gentle man over there is a cousin to Benjamin, his name is Kelvin. He is oldest son the family of the white.
"Kelvin! This is Nora, she's my cousin", Aaron said winking at Kelvin.
Immediately Kelvin got into the hall, he has had he's eyes on Nora, he never stopped looking at her. After Aaron had introduced him to Nora, he hurriedly stretched his hand towards her for a shake. "Hello Nora. The words of your beautiful have spread all over, the beauty of the Bromwick family", he said.
On hearing this, Chris grew annoyed. This was the disadvantage of having a very beautiful wife, she would be sort after by so many men, and like flies, chasing them away was stressful.
He walked forward and shook Kelvin's hand, "hey, I am Nora's husband", he said coldly.
"You?", Kelvin said as he looked at Chris from his head to his feet, as he expressed his disdain on his face. He took back his hand, "I had no idea Nora was married, what a waste if beauty... Why on earth did she get married to you?", Kelvin said flatly.
"Kelvin, the waste you speak of, is our live-in son-in-law, he has no job nor skills", Linda hurriedly said.
After staying that, she winked at Kelvin, "After I and your cousin get married, we would be one big family. We should get together more often..", she added.
Kelvin immediately got the message Linda was sending, she was encouraging to go after Nora. He gave off a smile, "Miss Nora is really beautiful, I am more than willing to get together more often", he said.
Just then Chris saw his in-laws, the parents of Nora approaching.
Sarah quickly turned to Nora, Nora, have you heard of the Miller family's sudden bankruptcy.
"huh?", Nora exclaimed shocked to hear this. "When did this happen?", Nora asked.
"Not so long ago!", Sarah replied with a sigh, "I honestly thought that when you finally decide to divorce Chris, you and Harry will be an item, but i guess that plans is out the window now", Sarah added.
Chris felt irritated within himself. Is his mother in-law insane. Did she not know that her current son-in-law was the best she could get?
Kelvin hurriedly walked forward and introduced himself to Sarah. "Hello, you must be the mother of Nora. my name is Kelvin, I am Benjamin's cousin. You are so beautiful, like they say, the apple never falls far from the tree. No wonder Nora is so cute and captivating", he complimented.
Immediately Sarah heard that Kelvin was Benjamin's cousin, she calculated quicklyl. This must be the eldest son of the White family, a rich prince charming! She closed her eyes and opened them excited, "Of course, I am Nora's mom. Are you her friend?", she asked.
Kelvin replied with a smile and nod. "We are, although we just metb today", Kelvin replied.
From merely looking at Sarah's face, it was obvious she was happy. She nodded vigorously, "How exciting, come Mr. White, let's sit and talk. Nora you see is a very beautiful girl, not only is she beautiful, she is also pure in heart, just like an angel. You guys should talk more often....", she added.
"Mom!", Nora said irritation, interposing her mom's words.
Sarah was about to talk some more when Nora pinched her and signalled to her to look at the stage.
It was Mrs. Bromwick, standing in the spotlight.
Before standing in front of the microphone, she looked around in amusement, "I would like to welcome you all, both family and friends, partners and honoured guests to the Bromwick family's banquet tonight!", She said smiling.
"Please, with a standing and clapping ovation, lets make welcome the vice-chairman of the Axel Group, Miss Stella Yong!", she said.
And immediately the spot light was moved to shine on the front seat to Stella on a black evening gown, revealing her perfect shaped body to the eyes of all who cared to stare. She was so beauutiful that all the men in the hall could not help but stare.
The vice-chairman of the well known Axel Group, her beauty was dazling. Each of her body part had a glow that was capable to draw one's eyes to them,
Lady Bromwick held up the mic and continued, "First, I would like to show how grateful I am to the Axel Group for entrusting such an imporatnt project to us. We will try our best to make sure that we don't dissapoint them!", she added.
"And next, we introduce an amazing junior of our own, from the Bromwick family let's make welcome...", She said.
Sarah screeched in excitement, "Nora darling, it's time for you to shine", she added.
Even though Nora had been trying to surpress her excitement and nervousness, she was still a bit shaky and really nervous.
Chris quickly looked at her with his face telling her to be string.
Aaron stared at Nora, knowing what he had done behind the scenes.
Mrs. Bromwick also turned to their table, smiled and then continued talking.
"... If not for him, we would never have been able to win the collaboration with the Axel Group. And after some consideration from our board of directors, we have agreed to make him the director of the Bromwick family, and also to make him fully responsible for the Axel Group project! Let's make welcome the new director of Bromwick Group, Aaron Bromwick!", She said.
Her voice echoed around the hall.
On hearing this, Nora became as frozen as a ice.
She couldn't believe what she heard, it grew worse when she turned to Aaron and saw him smiling and walking towards the stage.
Chris's eyes had a layer of ice hovering beneath them.
How could dare destroy the bridge after going across it!
Even after getting such benefit because of Nora, the Bromwicks had casted her aside not caring how she would feel.
Nora's eyes immediately went red as they were flooded with tears.
She immediately ran out of the hall without even looking back.
Compared to when she came in, her happiness had experienced a great fall.
Chris grew more angry as he watched her go out.
'How dare you oppress my wife? I'll end you!', he thought.
On getting on the stage, he looked around smiling, "Thank you grandma for this great honour. I'll make sure I don't dissapoint you as the new director, as well as the Axel Group", he said.
Mrs. Bromwick nodded satisfied. She immediately collected, "there's one more very important guest in the house tonight, we are honoured to make welcome the chairman of the Axel Group! Please with a clapping and standing ovation let's make welcome Mr. Arthur!", She said and all in the hall began to clap aloud.
Almost all guests there showed up to see the new chairman of the Axel Group.
They anticipated to see who it was. They looked around to see who was going to stand up.
"I think th chairman of the Axel Group was the mysterious rich man, the one of the Emerald court!", Someone said.
"I also think so! His back doesn't look familiar, he doesn't look like one of those in the upper class social circle in the Hillsprings!", Another replied.
"Geez! Is that suppose to mean that the Axel Group's chairman is most powerful person in the Hillsprings?", Another interposed.
"I really can't wait to see his face!", another said.
As the claps went on the people grew more eager.
And then with a cold face, Chris stood up slowly........
