Randy isn't rescued yet, and I have to return to Aymo City tomorrow morning. That means Daemon's plan won't work because I'd have to rescue Randy before three in the afternoon tomorrow, and failure to do so will result in me losing this battle!
With that in mind, Carla grew incredibly anxious and gave Harrison a call to explain the situation.
Although a little troubled, Harrison said, "Mr. Lierger has ordered me to rescue Randy within three days, so you're basically requesting for things to be preponed by a day. It's going to be quite difficult, but I'll try my best to get it done."
"Thanks. I'll see if I can stall for more time, " Carla replied.
"All right."
Carla contacted Jamal and Thompson immediately after getting off the phone. The two of them were trying their best to convince the directors to not sell off their shares.
Carla asked if they could try to postpone the board meeting, and they both said it would be very hard as she hadn't cashed out her shares. Even if she did, it would still take some time to be verified and validated.
As such, "Zayn" was the one who called the shots in Giblo Group at the moment.
Even though his power had been limited due to the changes in his shares, it was still within his power to call for a board meeting.
Carla was shocked to find out that she could only hope for Harrison to rescue Randy as soon as possible.
She began checking the news after hanging up and saw that the Gold family had hosted a press conference to announce Zayn and Nella's wedding.
"Zayn" even confirmed that news on camera in front of all the journalists.
Looks like Newton is getting impatient. He might even have Boris and Nella register their marriage before the board meeting… Though it is technically Boris who will be getting married, he is still pretending to be Zayn at the moment. Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do to stop all of this from happening unless I save Randy…
Carla frowned in displeasure at the thought of that.
Suddenly, Freda came rushing in and said excitedly, "Ms. Lierger, I've just gotten a call from Rogan. He told me that Benard is awake."
"Really? So soon?" Carla exclaimed in shock.
"Yeah! I didn't think he'd wake up so soon either! He's still very weak at the moment, but he was able to wave his hand and talk to me on video call earlier!" Freda was so happy that she nearly cried tears of joy.
Carla gave her a pat on the shoulder. "This is great! You should head back right away. It is times like these that he needs you the most."
"No way! What will you do if I'm gone?" Freda asked worriedly.
"I've got Jewel to look after me, remember? You should hurry up and get a move on. Use this opportunity to ask Benard what happened before he lost consciousness. Talk to the police and find out if we can file a lawsuit against Boris with Benard's testimony."
"Understood. I'll be on my way now."
Freda was so excited that she bolted right out of the room after saying that, much to Carla's relief.
Everything is ready now. All that's left is to rescue Randy, and we will be good to go. I wonder how things are with Zayn… Benard was able to wake up so quickly thanks to Derilo's help, so what about him? Has he recovered as well?
"Dr. Feroma's prescription really is effective! He is able to move his arm in just one day of medication!" Derila exclaimed happily when she saw that Zayn was able to move his arm.
"My body doesn't feel as stiff as it was before!" Zayn said excitedly. It took him a lot of effort just to make very slight movements, but it was enough to give him hope.
Derila nodded in satisfaction at her achievement. "Very well then. We'll increase the dosage tonight. Who knows, you might be able to lift your entire arm up by tomorrow!"
"Help me up. I'll see if I can sit upright."
Zayn had grown sick and tired of lying down all the time.
