Ralia quickly showed off a fake smile, "Course rep, welcome to Shangri-La hotel. It's a honour to have you here and it is a deligthful thing to have my former colleague at college. Please, do come in...", she said in a flattering voice.
She felt like her compliments and flattering way of speaking will make Chris overlook what she had done.
Sadly, Chris was not as kind hearted as she expected.
Marloy was surprise to hear Ralia's remarks, "Lee, you're were Mr. Arthur's colleague at college?", he asked.
"Yes, yes sir!", Ralia replied frantically, "infact, he was my course rep while in college, we are quite close", she added.
"Thomasorrow, go to the president's office. I'll make you the HR manager here at Shangri-La hotel!", he annouced instantly.
In the hotel, the difference between the HR manager and team leader was at like 3-tiers in ranking. Her salary and warfare package will not be 10 times increased, but the control of the manpower of most of the staffs in the hotel would also be on her. In addition, the HR manager was seen as a high level executive at managerial level.
On hearing his statement Ralia almost fainted in excitement.
"Mr. Smith, do you know the relationship between I and Ralia Lee?", Chris asked coldly.
Marloy suggested that Chris was not happy with the promotion, "Mr. Arthur, I can take Mr Lee up to vice president if you want!", he said immediately.
On hearing this, Ralia's heart skipped a beat.
"I earlier called Ralia to help me due to the fact that I didn't have a membership card, but to my greatest surprise, she came down here and began to shower me with insults, and for no good reason she ordered the guards to beat me up. But now, you want to promote such a person to vice-president? What are you trying to do? Piss me off?", Chris said abruptly.
Marloy felt as though he was loosing blood.
He realized that even though he wanted to please Chris, but he was doing the wrong thing.
Immedaitely, he threw his finger at Ralia, as boiled in anger, "You!", he yelled as he vibrated in anger, "What gave you the impetus to offend Mr. Arthur? Was your courage borrowed from a lion? I see you wish to die, right?", he asked.
Fear gripped Ralia, so much so she fell to the ground her knees shaking, "Mr. Smith, I am sorry, I am so sorry!", she wailed and pleaded.
Marloy threw his leg at her, kicking her fiercely, "You ignorant b_tch! I'll make sure you learn a lesson today about what happens to you when you offend Mr. Arthur!", he shouted.
He immediately turned to the security guard, "beat her good! Don't you dare show her mercy, make sure you destroy that plastic face she has, and afterwards inform our social director to make an annnoucement that whosoever employs her in the Hillsprings is simply waving an enimity flag against me, Marloy Smith!", he shouted some more.
Ralia become alot more scared, "Mr. Smith, please, please sir, I am sorry, please show mercy!", she begged.
Marloy only grew more angry, "now you are sorry, ai? What entered into your head before? What made offend Mr. Arthur? If not for him, I would have killed you right away!", he shouted.
Ralia's face was covered in tears. Still kneeling on the ground, she crawled to Chris's feet and began to bow vigorously.
Chris looked at her, "Ralia, we are friends, why then insult me and my wife?", Chris asked coldly.
"Course rep, I was thinking straight. It's because of my dirty mouth, I plead for your forgiveness", she begged on.
"I don't attack unless attacked. And if I recall correctly, you attacked me, I will not spare you! You brought this upon yourself!", Chris said.
"Take a does of your own medicine, you ignorant b_tch!", he added and snorted coldly.
"You b_tch! Stop pestering Mr. Arthur! I'll pull your mouth off your plastic face!", he said allowed.
Ralia dared not to say another word after that, she remained on the floor weeping bitterly.
Chris completly ignored her and turned to Marloy, "I am here because of the sky garden, shall we go to your office?", Chris inadvertently asked.
Marloy replied by nodding vigorous as he went before Chris, "Absolutely Mr. Arthur, please come this way!", Marloy ushered.
Just before he left, he turned to the guards, "teach her a lesson, do not stop until I ask you to, Understood!", He said authoritatively.
"Yes sir!", they chorused nodding frightfully. They immediately pounced on Ralia, pushing her against the floor, and began to beat her up.
As they walked away, Ralia wailed and screamed continously, but they ignored as Marloy escorted Chris into the hotel.
As soon as they arrived at Marloy's office, Chris wasted no more time, "I want to book the sky garden for the celebration of I and my wife's anniversary, which is only a few days from now, May I?", Chris asked.
"For fairness sake to all premium members, we do not allow the booking of the entire sky garden, even prominent politicians in the Hillsprings are not allowed to do such. But, the sky garden will be made reserved for you and you alone in the future!", Marloy replied.
"That wouldn't be necessary, I only need it for the wedding annivesary. And also, I need you to help me prepare a surprise for my wife", Chris said to Marloy.
"Anything you want sir! Please understand that I and all employees of this hotel is loyal to you, and will follow your every instruction", he said to Chris.
Having settle everything, Chris got into a bus home. He realized that almost all on the bus were with their phones, watching short clips and videos.
To amazement, they were all watching the same video.
It was the video of him at Emerald court, showing 13 million dollars in cash.
The video started when Griffin and the guards came out of their Rolls-Royce, and who ever was filming turned to the guards carrying money filled suitcases into the Emerald court, and dropped then all on the floor, embarrassing the cocky and ignorant sales manager. Almost everything was filmed and posted on social media.
But those who filmed were unable to capture the face of the mysterious man.
The video went round the Hillsprings like a detonated bomb. All in the Hillsprings were curious to know who the Mysterious rich man was. Girls in the city began to imagine moving from rags to riches, like Cinderella and prince charming being the mysterious man.
Chris exhaled relieved to see that his face did not appear on the videos, after confirming from different clips...His wasn't clear enough to be recognized.
When Chris arrived at home, they were still happy and celebrating Nora's Axel Group win, and so in no time, she would be made director. Her parents were gleefully crying.
After so many years of being made fun of, they were finally going to shine.
Due to how happy they were, they didn't find Chris as annoying as they always did.
"I am so full of joy today! My daughter is awesome!", She said.
She then turned to Chris smiling, something that rarely happened. "Chris, even thought you are useless, you deserve some credit, Nora did this because you motivated her to. So tonight, you don't have to make dinner. We are going out to celebrate!", She said still smiling.
Nora giggled. "We are going to kempinski!", Nora said.
"Woah! That's too expensive!", Sarah said shocked. "At least a thousand dollars per person if I am not mistaken", she added.
Nora laughed and turned to her mom, "Mom, don't worry about it, as a director, I'll receive an annual income of a million dollars", she said to her mom.
"Wow!", Sarah said clapping, "That's amazing! My beloved Nora has finally done something significant!", She said.
After thinking briefly Sarah turned to Nora, "you are going to give me 70 percent of what you earn, you young people don't know how to handle money. I know it's more trust worthy compared to you saving it yourself!", Sarah added.
"Okay mom, I'll make sure I do as you have said. but first, some ground rules. No more taunting Chris, for goodness sake, he's your son-in-law!", Nora said.
"Alright Nora! For your sake, I won't critisize him again, at least not as much as I did before now!", Sarah replied.
