I walked passed them acting casually.
When I was done with the dishes, I got out of the kitchen, and hurried back to my room.
On my way, I saw Kareen standing in front of her door smiling mischievously.
I looked at her and asked sub-consciously: "what do you want?"
"The truth!", she replied as she stopped leaning on the door's frame.
"What truth?!", I asked acting puzzled.
My heart at this point was beating quite abnormally.
"What did you do to the food?", She asked.
On hearing her question, my eyes went slightly dim.
"I.... I...", I stammered.
"Don't lie to me now big sis...", She added.
This evil b_tch!
Faced with her question and her unwavering look, I couldn't help but feel nervous.
This little girl had successfully made her image appear big, taking advantage of my guilt.
F_ck it! What can she do?
Thinking of this, I sighed, pushed her by her forehead back into her room and walked away.
"I am telling mom!", She said.
"Good luck!", I said as I opened my door.
What's the point of being afraid, it's not like she can prove that I did sh_t!
I laid on my bed with my airpod in my ears as I tossed and turned on the bed about to go online when I received a video call from Taylor.
I hurriedly answered and said excitedly: "Hello bestie!"
"Don't bestie me! Where the f_ck have you been?! You haven't been online for 24hours, I am honestly just calling to confirm if you are dead!", She said acting angry.
Hearing this I began to laugh, "As you can hear, I am not dead!"
"F_ck! Why?! How much longer am I going to wait to get your red gown?", She asked in a whiny tone.
"Much much longer.... You might have to pass it down to your grand daughter even", I replied and stuck my tongue out.
"You are lucky we aren't together. I would have cut out your tongue.", She said playfully.
"Why the f_ck do you have that cap on? It looks ridiculous, take it off!", She said authoritatively.
"Sorry sis, no can't do!", I replied.
"Wow.... Katie's grown balls... She's now hiding things from me!", She said touching her chest.
"Darling it's not like that...", I replied faking a frown
"I am not talking to you, you know how much I hate the species with balls!", She replied with a frown, rested her phone against something and folded her arms and facing another direction.
Taylor's had a couple of break ups. In the space of 3 years, she's dated 5 guys. The longest she dated lasted for almost year, so you can work the math; 4 boys in 2 years.
For this reason, she has grown hatred for boys.
The last one she had was the longest, his name was Creg. Taylor loved Creg so much. So much so that even after finding him cheating she forgave him. But this bastard had to break up with her publicly after she confronted him for kissing a new girl in a party.
How cruel was that.
This happened several months ago, I have been the one consoling and keeping her company all these while, it's natural for her to miss me this much. If she hadn't gone on a trip with her dad, she probably be at my house now.
If she was here, she naturally wouldn't let this cap stay on my head. We are best friends after all.
Thinking of this, I replied: "Okay.... Okay you win..."
After taking of the cap, she turned to the camera and slowly began to laugh: "what the f_ck Katie, what happened to your hair?"
"It was that b_tch Kareen!", I replied.
"Kareen?!", She asked puzzled.
"Why?!", She said laughing harder.
I quickly put the cap back on feeling slightly embarrassed.
Just as I was about to reply, I heard my door being pushed open.
I turn to see who it was admist the video call.
"Katie, what's this?!", Mom said holding Kareen's phone and showing me it's screen.
Kareen stood beside her folding her hand with a smug expression.
"Hello Mrs. Monrow!", Taylor greeted from the other end of the video call.
"Hi Taylor, you might wanna end the call, your friend is in a bit of trouble!", Mom replied.
"Don't die on the red gown!", Taylor said and ended the call.
Mom walked closer and gave me the phone which displayed a video of me in the kitchen putting the extra ingredients.
How did she get this?
Thinking of this, I subconsciously turned to Kareen who was smiling and saying: "thanks for your wish 'good luck', it really helped."
