The following morning, Carla was awakened by the kids' laughter.
She yawned and dragged herself out from the bed, then made her way to the window. The moment she pulled open the curtain, the kids, who were chasing among each other playfully, came into view. At that very moment, her lips curved into a smile unknowingly.
Ever since Daemon's adorable triplets were there, Randy and Venus cheered up a lot.
The three toddlers, who were barely three years old, were at their most lively and carefree stage. Furthermore, they possessed the unique ability to brighten up everyone's day with their liveliness.
Right that instant, Venus and the triplets were chasing each other among the bushes. Meanwhile, Randy was seated aside, savoring hot drinks while gazing at them with smiling eyes.
The profound warmth in his eyes reminded Carla about Daemon. No wonder Daemon tends to dot on Randy. It is undeniable that Randy resembled him in his appearance and calm temperament.
Knock! Knock! All of a sudden, someone knocked on Carla's door, waking her up from her contemplation.
"Come in." Carla put on her cardigan as she called out.
Freda entered right away and notified her, "Ms. Lierger, Lady Lisa has woken up. She is now heading toward the garden, obviously bringing the gifts to the kids."
"At this hour? She's early." Carla was surprised and turned to look in the direction of the garden again.
She saw Lisa step into the garden with her subordinates and greet Randy friendLilian. Other than that, she called out to Venus and the three kids to distribute the gifts to them.
"Yeah, it's barely seven o'clock." Freda was nonplussed. "My goodness! The royal etiquette is complicated indeed. I notice that Marianne had already assigned the maids to prepare breakfast for Lady Lisa as early as five o'clock. After that, she proceeded to serve her for a wash-up…"
"Ah! It does seem she is more occupied than all of you." Carla teased her before she vanished into the bathroom.
"Yeah, undeniably, both Rogan and I are really blessed, " Freda asked Carla as she opened the wardrobe. "Ms. Lierger, what are you planning to wear today? Do you prefer a gown or something else?"
"Choose something more casual and comfortable then. I have promised to bring the kids to go horseback riding today, " Carla replied casually.
"But then Lady Lisa is all dressed up today, " Freda reminded her.
"Anyway, I'm not a duchess like her, am I?" Carla rolled her eyes and mocked.
"All right, Ms. Lierger. I get it, " Freda replied respectfully.
She selected a smart and casual suit for Carla to be matched with a pair of Dr. Martens boots. With her long hair tied into a bun, Carla looked exceptionally smart as she was giving off a unique vibe at the same time.
When Carla was about to step out of her room, there was a knock on her door again.
Freda stepped forward to open the door at once and greeted, "Charles!"
Charles stepped into the room and updated Carla, "Ms. Lierger, everything is settled."
"Did you manage to detect anything? Did someone actually stir up trouble by wreaking havoc?" Carla asked anxiously.
"Yeah." Charles nodded and explained, "We spotted someone suspicious, but he managed to flee when we were going after him. I patrolled the area thoroughly this morning and haven't sensed anything amiss so far." He paused and continued hesitantly. "Even so… I have not checked on those subordinates who came together with Lady Lisa."
"It's not appropriate to check on Lady Lisa's subordinates recklessly." Carla instructed him, "Since the external trouble is solved, just put this matter aside and focus on your current task."
"Noted, Ms. Lierger. I have assigned four men to protect the kids, and the other three will continue with the search, " Charles updated her.
"I really appreciate your hard work. Luckily you are here to assist us. If not, I surely can't get the matter resolved by relying solely on the female bodyguards, " Carla said thankfully.
Charles was undoubtedly more experienced and efficient than Rogan in getting matters resolved. Everything managed to be settled by him within such a short span.
"Ms. Lierger, I'm just carrying out my responsibilities." He bowed to her and left.
"Ms. Lierger, finally, you can go horseback riding without being bothered." Freda handed the hat to Carla.
"Yeah, the weather is fine today." Carla put on her hat and stepped out of the room.
In the meantime, Lisa had already distributed the gifts to all the kids in the garden. She was inviting them to have breakfast with her eagerly.
Venus was in a dilIlali, not knowing what she was supposed to say to reject her nicely. On the other hand, the three girls turned Lisa down directly. "We will have our breakfast later. Lady Lisa, you go ahead to have yours first. We want to catch butterflies now."
Gamma was even holding Venus's hand excitedly. "Venus, come and join us now!"
"Grandma Lisa, see… you…" Venus was dragged away by Gamma before she could finish her words.
