Back at home, Carla went to check on Venus. She had taken her medication and was sound asleep.
Hapilia was by her side, gently patting her back.
Snuggling in Hapilia's arms with her Whyte alpaca, Venus looked exceptionally cute.
After tucking both of them in, Carla thanked Hapilia softly, "I appreciate it, Hapilia."
"Not at all. I adore Venus, " Hapilia replied with a smile. "You should get some sleep. I'll take care of things here."
After waving goodnight, Carla left the room quietly.
She had wanted to check on Randy, but saw that the room light had been turned off. Worried that she would wake him, she returned to her room instead.
"It must be Mommy at the door just now. She must have thought that I was asleep and left because she didn't want to wake me."
Hiding underneath his blanket with a torchlight, Randy was chatting with Josh on a video call.
"Why didn't you ask Mommy to come in? I want to see her."
Josh yawned as he spoke. Due to the time difference, it was five in the morning in Aymo City. He had woken up early on purpose just to call Randy.
"Mommy has many things to worry about. So, I don't want to disturb her." Randy still felt bad about earlier.
"No matter what, Mommy cannot marry Sir Lucas." Being the brute that he was, Josh didn't think much of it. "Don't worry, Mommy won't be angry at you. She will be fine in a while."
"However, I'm worried that Mommy won't cancel the engagement because of this." Frowning, Randy elaborated, "In fact, she might even be scolded by Uncle Dan."
"Huh? What do we do then?" Josh was filled with anxiety.
"Let's wait and see…" Not wanting Josh to be worried, Randy changed topics. "How's Daddy?"
"Daddy has been feeling down over the last two days. However, he tries this best to cheer me up. Today, he even trained and played soccer with me." Sprawled on his bed, Josh cupped his chin. "Daddy and I are doing very well. I'm just worried about you and Venus."
"I feel really bad for causing Venus to puke terribly today." Randy was filled with regret. "When I went to see her just now, she even reassured me by telling me not to worry."
"She's right. Dr. Feroma will cure her, " Josh comforted. "However, don't give any more tablets the next time. If only I were there, I could eat them on her behalf. At most I'll just have diarrhea, haha."
Randy was speechless.
While both brothers chatted, Zayn, who was about to knock, retracted his hand.
Initially, he wanted to join the chat to find out more about Carla's situation. However, he had already overheard everything.
Venus had taken a tablet that caused her to throw up and have stomach discomfort. Randy was reprimanded for it while there was still no answer on the marriage. However, Lucas and his family had stayed over.
Unfortunately, it seemed that they couldn't escape destiny.
Furrowing his eyebrows, Zayn walked quietly away. He was frustrated at the fact that the children were sharing what was supposed to be his burden.
Then, he sent Randy a message, asking him to call when he had time.
Before he knew it, Randy was on the line. "Daddy!"
"Randy…" After chatting briefly, he gently requested, "Both you and Venus shouldn't interfere with Mommy's affairs anymore, all right?"
"Daddy, do you already know?" Randy asked.
"Mmm-hmm." Zayn chuckled wryly. "This was supposed to be my responsibility. But when you tried to handle it and even caused Venus to fall sick, it makes me feel very bad."
"Daddy, don't think that way."
"Be a good boy, Randy. Next time, don't meddle in the affairs of adults. Mommy is really smart. Whatever decision she makes would have gone through deep deliberation. As her children, you will need to respect her decision.
"I may not agree with her, but I have my own way to communicate and resolve it. This relates to a man's pride and responsibility. So, promise me you'll stay out of it, all right?"
