"You're right." Thompson felt suspicious about it after Jombo voiced his doubt.
"I'm not sure about that. However, I think Mr. Zayn knows what to do, for he has planned it all along, " Remon added.
"What did he plan?" Jombo asked.
"Well…" Remon explained cautiously, "Mr. Zayn's luggage was in the car. Besides, Brandy purposely drove around the place before returning to Northridge so that the Lierger family wouldn't suspect anything. As far as I can tell, Mr. Zayn knew that he could stay there."
"Pfft!" Thompson burst into laughter. "This is really what Mr. Zayn would do."
"That lad has all sorts of tricks in his mind." Jombo was slightly annoyed. "Anyway, you guys made a good point. Since Zayn has made preparations in advance, he should've expected what will happen next."
"Yes. You don't have to overthink it, " Thompson comforted him, "anyway, it's getting late. You should get some rest."
"Ah—" Jombo heaved a sigh, for he still couldn't put his mind at ease.
Nonetheless, after the incident related to Selena happened, Jombo kept persuading himself to give more freedom to Zayn, even though he cared about him very much.
"Alright. You may leave now."
Remon lowered his head and left after Thompson shot a look at him.
Then, Thompson helped Jombo to the bed and consoled him. "Don't worry, for the children will take care of themselves. Besides, Mr. Zayn is more competent than you can imagine. So, please don't overthink it."
"Have you found anything about the things that I asked you to investigate?" Jombo suddenly asked.
After remaining silent for a few seconds, Thompson said in a low voice, "Mr. Zayn and the Lierger family are searching for Ms. Solara. They have sent a lot of men to do it, yet I believe they haven't had any important leads."
"We mustn't let the Lierger family find Solara first." Jombo frowned and continued, "She will be dead if the Lierger family gets her first. Instead, she might have a chance to survive if Zayn finds her first."
"I think the Lierger family won't let go of Ms. Solara easily. After all, Mrs. Borah died because of her. Besides, she abducted Randy and almost killed Carla. The animosity between them has reached the point of no return, and the Lierger family must take revenge on her, " " Thompson said worriedly.
Upon hearing Thompson's words, Jombo fell silent and frowned.
"I understand that you're in a difficult position. Given that Ms. Solara is your daughter, you hope that she can survive. However… she committed many unforgivable crimes. Also, she seems to have gone crazy now. So, I'm afraid she can't escape her fate no matter how much you wish to protect her, " Thompson persuaded patiently.
"I get it…" Jombo heaved a sigh and continued, "Every adult has to be responsible for what he does. I only hope that there can be a better way to solve it. For instance, hand her over to the police and punish her by the law. By then, she can at least stay alive!"
"I understand." Thompson nodded and replied, "Well, let's hope that Mr. Zayn can get Ms. Solara first."
"No, I've to remind him." With that, Jombo struggled to get up from bed.
"Please don't, " Thompson comforted him and said, "Mr. Zayn is already aware of it even though you haven't told him. After all, what makes you think that Ms. Solara could escape a few times easily?"
Thompson paused for a while and continued, " Mr. Zayn doesn't intend to hurt his family. Besides, as far as I know, there is a lack of evidence to prove that Ms. Solara committed all of the accused crimes. So, with the help of a prominent lawyer, I think she will only be jailed for a few years."
"We hope that it comes true. However, the only concern is that the Lierger family won't let her off the hook, " Jombo responded anxiously, "Hopefully, Carla is reasonable in dealing with Solara. Since Shelley was the one who harmed Carla and Mrs. Borah, Carla can take her life for revenge."
"Ms. Lierger will understand it. After all, she didn't stop Mr. Zayn when he wanted to bring Selena to the police station, " Thompson assured him, "when it comes to Ms. Solara, I believe she won't act recklessly as well."
"I hope so…"
