This life's not worth living.
I am only alive cause I really don't have a choice.
Suicide just doesn't play out for me.
Why?
I ain't broke if that's what you are thinking, I own a company, making millions of dollars a day, so money isn't the problem.
If money isn't the problem then what is?
"Sir Lance! Welcome", Jane greeted.
Jane's my secretary, she really irritates me, I haven't fired her cause she's one of the best I have worked with this month.
Sir Lance is my boss, I am a graduate of the university of Florida. I studied business admin. A fresh graduate; this is my first job, making Sir Lance my first boss.
Sir Lance is about 5 ft 11. Compared to the rest, he's slightly above average, and yeah he's taller than me and is very cute, in a rough way.
He doesn't care about the way he looks, his hair is messy, his beards unkept, seemingly shaves once a month or two, he's just non chalant about everything... But all these and many more make me crave for a night with him, just one!
"Jane, what's the statistics?", Lance asked in a calm tone as he walked to his office.
"It's very good sir! Our game 'sky high' is among the top ten most downloaded on the net right now, and our app 'Ken can help' is almost ranked as high as google! Our profits have increased by 500%", Jane explained with excitement in her tone.
Without a change in his expression, Lance stepped into the elevator.
"Where's our largest audience from?", he asked as he pressed 12 on the elevator.
Lance's company, Lanz Ware, occupies a large piece of land which holds up a 12 story building, he alone occupies the top floor; not even his secretary, family or friends are authorized to go there without his permission. Below his floor is what is called the 'thinking room', it's actually a library but Lance decided to call it the thinking room; it is usually quiet and no one dares make as much as a sound there, so much so sign languages were used to communicate to one another.
The elevator arrived at the 12th floor, spitting out Lance and Jane who had been talking non-stop since Lance's last question; but when she realized that Lance hadn't said anything since she started talking, she too kept quiet. They walked quietly until they got to the doorway of Lance's sub main office.
Also, Lance's office was divided into 3 sections:
The entrance office which is seen immediately one comes out from the elevator, there are a couple of chairs and a main chair where Lance sits and usually listens to his top employees talk. it is also used to take un-important guest. Then there is the sub-main office, where crucial matters are discussed, and the main office where only he resides.
Lance walked to the window and opened the blinds, stood there for a while and walked to his seat and sat down gently, glanced at his desk and then Jane and asked, "You said our largest audience is from the USA, Las Vegas, right?"
"Yes sir! They love our game sky high, and are even planning to install Ken into their ATM machines and banks. They intend on holding a meeting with you next week sir, even the president of the united states is considering this digital evolvement. Sir I must say you truly are a genius and I am honoured to work for you... I love you sir... I am sorry, I mean your work sir!", Jane replied corkily.
Jane has always been a talkative, and the fact she has a crush on Lance only makes matters worse; but unfortunately for her, Lance loves peace and quietness, that's the reason for his building's structure and arrangement.
"The next time you utter those words, be sure to have another job ready. I want you to do a thorough research on Las Vegas, go find out, why they like our products so much", he replied.
"Okay sir, anything else?", she asked.
"No, leave!", he replied carelessly.
Jane paused for a while as Lance's words played in her head over and over again as she helplessly stared at his forearms as he wrote down somethings.
"Jane!", Lance called sternly as he looked at her and then the door.
She immediately rushed out and went into the elevator as she went to cary out Lance's order in her office at the 9th floor of the building.
When she left, Lance squeezed the piece of paper he was writing on and tossed it into the basket, got up from his chair and walked to the his main office, went for the window, opened it's blinds and asked, "Ken, what are the keys to happiness?"
"Master Lance, the keys to happiness are, good health, money, power and love!", Ken replied.
"Is there an alternative for love?", he asked.
"Yes sir", Ken replied.
On hearing this, Lance's heart skipped a beat.
He had been asking this same question from the very first day he made Ken, and Ken's reply has always been 'no sir', hearing him say 'yes' came as a big shock to Lance.
Ken, an highly intelligent AI, built by Lanz Ware, installed in cars, buildings, and as applications on mobile devices and nick named 'Ken can help'. On its own, it is constantly making researches, it acquires information at the speed of millions of pages an hour! It's researches are also documented.
But little does the world know that although Ken has a mind of its own, it is subjected to Lance; which means that, what ever device, or operating system that uses Ken, Lance can control and acquire all it's information.
"Ken, what is the alternative for love?", Lance asked enthusiastically as he stared into space.
